Basin Harbor Club

Basin Harbor Club

Vergennes, VT

Basin Harbor Club was established in 1886 by Ardelia Beach and has remained family owned for 126 years. Today, guests are greeted by fourth generation hosts, Pennie Beach and Robert H. Beach, Jr. Originally a 225-acre working farm catering to summer boarders, the resort has expanded to cover 700 acres of Vermont‘s most pristine land along the shores of Lake Champlain, encompassing the main lodge and 3 guest houses, 74 cottages, a championship 18-hole golf course, spectacular gardens, a 3,200 foot grass airstrip, and the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum—an organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Lake Champlain.
Dining is a pleasure at Basin Harbor with a formal lakeside dining room, the casual Red Mill: a renovated lumber mill and the Ranger Room, featuring a bountiful breakfast and lunch buffet. Outside dining is also enjoyed with picnics and lakeside lobster bakes with live entertainment and hayrides.
With plenty of signature adirondack chairs to relax in, Basin Harbor also offers sailing, kayaking, guided cruises, nature walks, daily supervised childrens program, craft and cooking classes, wellness programs, waterskiing, dockside dinners, biking...did we mention we have over 126 things to do? Easily accessible by land, air and water, once here, you don't need to leave.

Basin Harbor is families, traditions and helping you create memories for a lifetime.

Dining at Basin Harbor is all about choices. Our lakefront dining room serves breakfast and dinner and during the summer season, we keep the tradition of jacket and tie for gentlemen over the age of 12 at the dinner hour. The Ranger Room serves a sumptious luncheon buffet daily with cold salads, hot entrees, childrens items, soup and sandwiches and a dessert/sundae bar where adults and children alike jockey for a place in line! The Red Mill Restaurant is a renovated sawmill with hand hewn rafters and ephemera decorating the walls providing a rich visual history of Basin Harbor and Lake Champlain. The menu is casual and features local and fresh ingredients.

Our North Dock presents the most spectacular lake dining experience. Any closer and you would be treading water. Three nights a week, you can enjoy fresh lobster, barbeque or vermont farm to table dinners with live music and the summer breezes.

Our committment to the Vermont Fresh Network and all our wonderful local producers is important to our historic Vermont heritage. Dining is an important aspect to any enjoyable getaway and we fully appreciate that.
Basin Harbor Club spans the the most narrow part of Lake Champlain, affording us beautiful views of the Palisades cliffs in the Adirondack Park. Our 700 acres includes a low-elements ropes course, 18 hole golf course and plenty of space to rest, relax and reconnect. Our walking trails criss cross through woods, Button Bay State Park and along the lakefront.
