We are offering a weekend which puts your family in touch with the arts and nature, in the Beautiful Berkshires of Western Massachusetts starting Friday, June 22 and departing Sunday, June 24, 2012.

The highlight of the weekend will be a clay workshop on Saturday, where your child will be creating their own Garden Toad Sculpture under the instruction of gifted potter, Gail Sellers of River Hill Pottery. Once completed Gail will take them all back to her workshop, fire them and send them right to your home.

Friday night begins with a S’mores Party, games, a nature talk and a book reading in our Common Room. You will receive a packet of special family discounted offers some of our favorite stores and restaurants and maps of the area.

Saturday morning starts with our Bountiful Buffet Breakfast, which you can enjoy on our lovely deck, overlooking Hemlock Brook, followed by a Nature Walk with Jill, the Innkeeper, at picturesque Margaret Lindley Park , which is
across the street. We are then sending you to neighboring North Adams with admission tickets to Mass MoCA to have a tour this eclectic museum, which includes the delightful Kidspace, a special installation for children. For lunch, we recommend at Lickety Split, which is part of Mass MoCA and features free live Celtic Music on Saturdays in the café from 11 AM to 1 PM.
Meet back at the Motel at 3:00 PM for your Clay modeling class, after which you may want to enjoy a swim in our large secluded pool.

Saturday Dinner is on your own, however some of our favorite restaurants have some great special offerings you might want to try. We are happy to make reservations for you.

Sunday begins with Breakfast at the Motel, followed by a nature drawing class outdoors, if the weather permits. Before heading home, we recommend you visit nearby Sheep Hill Reservation, Cricket Creek Farm or Ioka Valley Farm to explore another Family-oriented venue you are sure to enjoy.
