Champney's Restaurant & Tavern at the Deerfield Inn provides guests and diners with the choice of ambiance - cozy and convivial in the tavern, or relaxed and romantic in the restaurant. Our menus are market driven and we are a Local Hero restaurant, buying predominantly from area growers and producers. Farmers come to the kitchen door with their bounty, and in season we might see a mushroom man or a fiddlehead fern picker... If it's fresh, it's going to taste better! We have dozens of wines and beers by the glass, as well as local draft beers and a list of 101 martinis. The Tavern's big screen television is perfect for those games, and guests are welcome to enjoy a cocktail in one of our living rooms. In fine weather you can eat on the porch and enjoy the intimate serenity of the village. We are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week, but are closed for several days over Christmas.

The Deerfield Inn stands in the center of a mile-long village street lined with trees and houses from the 18th and 19th-century, many of which are open to the public. Deerfield is home to PVMA's Memorial Hall, the oldest museum in New England, and the Five Colleges. Also in this area known as The Happy Valley, we are surrounded by fields and farms from which we get our fruit, meat, honey, herbs, and vegetables. Guests can visit farmstands, hike, browse bookshops and galleries, go antiquing, x-country skiing, swimming, skating, whitewater rafting, ziplining, and a plethora of other activities both vigorous and relaxed. Yankee Candle's flagship ship is nearby, as is Magic Wings, a butterfly conservatory, and the Eric Carle Picture Museum.
