The National Hotel is located in the heart of the Old Harbor District, directly across the street from the ferry landing and walking distance to the shops, restaurants and beaches. The hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places having been originally built in 1888. All 45 rooms have been renovated with private baths, televisions and telephones but are decorated within the Victorian style of the hotel. The rooms are simple, yet clean and comfortable.

The hotel also offers a full service restaurant and six retail stores. The restaurant, known as The Tap & Grille specializes in steak and fresh seafood. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with inside or outside dining. The porch overlooks the harbor and the Atlantic Ocean. There is also an outside bar for a great spot to people watch.

Our central location, welcoming staff and charming decor make the National Hotel one of the most popular places on Block Island.

 

Located in the heart of Old Harbor, our grand porch overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and makes the perfect spot to watch the world go by.  We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner daily in season and our menu offers a huge variety of fresh seafood, handcut steaks, salads, sandwiches, pastas and more.  Our very talented chef was spends his winters in Naples, FL working at our sister property, M Waterfront Grille.  

We also offer live entertainment on the weekends, as well as Wednesday nights for Mojito night.  

The National Hotel is located directly across the street from where the Pt. Judith, RI and New London, CT ferries dock.  It is the main street of the town, walking distance to the shops, restaurants and beaches.

The National Hotel has 45 rooms all with private baths, televisions and telephones.  The rooms are clean and simple, decorated within the Victorian style of the hotel.  We do not have air conditioning but there are fans in all rooms.  Air conditioning is very rare on the island and most of the time we get a beautiful ocean breeze.  We also do not have an elevator although we have one handicap suite on the ground floor of the hotel which does offer air conditioning.  

Most of our rooms have one queen size bed but we also offer larger rooms with two queen beds or suites.
