IMG_0453MT_2One of the reasons you come to Vermont is to enjoy the benefits of locally sourced fresh food from dedicated small farmers, artisan cheese makers and specialty meat suppliers. Our Chef prides himself on the creative use of these ingredients as he prepares delicious dishes that are both satisfying and memorable. As a graduate of the well respected culinary program at Johnson and Wales in Charleston, South Carolina, Chef Phil Gaulin brings great experience, talent and presents a bright start to a new chapter in Middlebury Inn’s dining history.

For Morgan’s Tavern, Chef Gaulin acquires the freshest ingredients from Vermont producers and purveyors through the Vermont Fresh Network Partnershipeveryday. Our philosophy is that fresh is always best. All of our food is cooked with the guest’s satisfaction in mind, to create a truly memorable and satisfying dining experience.

Recently added to our list of beverage vendors was the Art of Tea. Founded in 2006 in Los Angeles by Master Tea Blender Steve Schwartz, Art of Tea is a leading purveyor of organic and specialty teas. Art of Tea sources the world’s finest organic teas and botanicals directly from growers. Each of their over 200 teas are hand blended and hand packed “to order” in their Los Angeles based facility and are directly distributed to cafes and restaurants who share in their vision for delivering the highest quality tea experience possible. Be sure to stop in and enjoy our Afternoon Tea to try your favorite tea blend. Whether you are dining in Morgan’s Tavern, grabbing a beer and burger at the bar or attending a wedding reception, we believe you will want to come back for years to come to enjoy all the best that the Inn offers.
