Reserve one of the twenty-six guest rooms in the Manor.  Seven with working wood-burning fireplaces and twelve with jacuzzis. Our elegant mansion set on 33 secluded acres was originally the summer estate of carpet baron Erastus Bigelow.  Throughout this turn-of-the-century Victorian mansion, you’ll be surrounded by beauty, comfort and exceptional views.  English oak woodwork including fireplace, doorway and window surrounds, beamed ceilings, built-in bookcases, decorative carvings and lead glass. You are sure to find your special fireside spot in our Library Lounge to enjoy a book, a beverage and conversation with family and friends.  When traveling with a group or for an extended stay, consider a three or four bedroom Stonehurst Village condominium.

Stonehurst Manor is Pet Friendly
No need to leave your ‘best friend’ home when staying at the Manor.  Pet friendly rooms are located on the first floor in the Mountain View Wing with a private entrance for your convenience.  Size appropriate food and water bowls are provided for your use during your stay as well as “Welcome Doggie Cookies” and waste bags.  When making your reservation, please let us know about your pet.

Set in the pine groves surrounding the Manor, these well planned accommodations are spacious and fully equipped including private deck/patio, washer and dryer and living room with fireplace/woodstove.  Some are air conditoned and all have ceiling fans.

Horseback Riding

Your horse is saddled and ready to go! The stables at The Farm by the River offer another great way to explore the Mt. Washington Valley. Their stable is located three miles from the Stonehurst Manor and is home to 18 resident horses. Ride the trails on this family estate which dates back to 1771.

Riders will enjoy panoramic mountain views of Mt. Cranmore, Kearsarge, nine miles of the Moat Mountain range, Cathedral and White Horse Ledges. The trail ride winds through meadows and mixed maple and evergreen forest, and along the Saco River. The horses are selected for soundness and good temperament and are cared for and trained by experienced wranglers all year round.

The one hour trail ride is a guided, walk only trail ride. Riders must be at least 7 years old, weigh no more than 240 pounds, able to get on and off the horse with minimal assistance, and wear closed in shoes (no flip flops please).

The Private Victorian Carriage Ride is approximately 45 minutes long.
Please plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to departure for all rides.

Join us for dinner in one of our four dining rooms anytime or on our screened porch in the summer.  Dining at the Manor is elegant yet casual combining delicious tradition with inventive taste discoveries all prepared by our award-winning chef and staff.  Plan to enjoy our fireplaced Library Martini Loungebefore or after your dinner.

House specialties include a number of items prepared in our wood-fired oven including pizza prepared with sourdough and a variety of specialty toppings, breads, appetizers and our very popular Prime Rib of Beef aged and Baked Stuffed Lobster available any night of the week!  Check out our Dinner and Breakfast menus.

Cheese Fondue Available Weekends and Holidays during the winter.
Stop by from 2 – 4:30pm on winter weekends, holidays and holiday weeks to enjoy cheese fondue served in our Library Lounge.  This delicious blend of Gruyere and Emmentaler Swiss cheese with a hint of kirsch, wine and garlic is served with baby potatoes, soft pretzel and French bread for dipping.  Fondue is served in the afternoon through March and is also available nightly for dinner in the dining room.  Dinner is served from 5:30 – 10 pm nightly.  Reservations suggested.  Dress is casually comfortable.
