You've seen the movie*? Now come and enjoy hiking the Long Trail, after a great breakfast at the B&B and with a comfortable bed waiting for you in the evening!

West Hill House B&B is just a few miles from the Long Trail access at Lincoln Gap, a starting point at 2,500ft. Some day outings include:

• A four and a half hour walk to the 4,017 ft summit of Mt Abraham and back. From the top you will enjoy a 360 degree view of Vermont, the Adirondacks in New York State and all the way to the White Mountains in New Hampshire.
• Make it a round trip by continuing north to the 3,975 ft Lincoln Peak then come down the Upper and Lower Jester trails at Sugarbush to the base, then walk back to the B&B.  About the same overall time, then we will take you back to fetch your car at Lincoln Gap.
• For the really ambitious, do the 8 hour gap to gap walk continuing past Lincoln Peak to the 4,081 ft Mt Ellen then to the 3,662 ft summit of General Stark at Mad River Glen. Either walk down the trail to the ski area base, or continue north on the ridge to the Appalachian Gap. Then call us and we will come and bring you back for a Jacuzzi bath or Steam Shower in your room!

Snowshoeing up to Mt Abraham

These walks are best enjoyed in the warmer months of May through early November. However the first outing can be done on snowshoes, although you start from the bottom of the Lincoln Gap (the road is closed in winter) adding an extra 1,000 ft of vertical. Ask for seconds at breakfast before you head out!
