Originally built in 1886, The Colonial Inn is the last of the grand hotels in this seaside village. In the last few years, the hotel has been reimagined and restored to offer today's best amenities while still maintaining its authentic Victorian charm and genuine Maine hospitality for unique vacations and getaways.



Accommodations at the Colonial Inn are comprised of 62 updated rooms spread throughout four different buildings, offering a variety of room configurations that can suit guests’ preferences or requirements, whether a single traveler, couple, family or group.



On the property you'll find a heated outdoor pool & hot tub, a beautiful wrap around porch where you can spend a relaxing afternoon, a shuffleboard court and a service bar serving beer and wine in the evenings.



All reservations are inclusive of a complimentary continental breakfast.



The Colonial Inn's location in the heart of Ogunquit makes it easy for you to park your car on arrival and not need it for the remainder of your trip. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the entrance to Marginal Way, a five minute walk into town and a ten minute walk to the beach.

Main Inn

Built in 1890, the Main Inn is a Queen Anne Victorian style building featuring four floors of rooms. This building offers a variety of rooms with comfortable king beds including several rooms on the third and fourth floors with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. 

Shorebirds

Perfect for groups or families needing a little extra room, the Shorebirds building is a motel-style building featuring two floors of rooms each with two comfortable queen beds. Most rooms also feature private patios or balconies. 

Garden Grove

Located on the southern edge of the property, the Garden Grove building offers two floors of rooms with outdoor spaces and quick access to Marginal Way.

Beach Rose

Originally built as a cottage in 1900 for the past owners, the Beach Rose now features four suites with kitchenettes and plenty of space for longer-term stays.

Guest amenities at the Colonial Inn are numerous and generous, including complimentary continental breakfast, ample free parking, complimentary property-wide Wi-Fi, a heated outdoor pool with a patio and hot tub (open from Memorial Day to Indigenous Peoples Day), a large lobby and extended wrap-around porch for socializing and relaxing, and a beautifully landscaped exterior with inviting green spaces. In addition, a bar service is provided in the common areas. A trolley stop out front allows guests to leave their cars behind while they head out to enjoy all Ogunquit has to offer.
