Property Overview

Our intimate boutique hotel is located in the epicenter of Downtown Salem, Massachusetts. Guests enjoy large and lavish lodging rooms that still maintain much of the original woodwork and craftsmanship, while also offering the best in modern amenities. The historic hotel is an homage to its commissioner, Joshua Ward, a post-Revolutionary War sea merchant and privateer. Constructed by the praised architect, Samuel McIntire, the property has hosted notable guests such as President Washington in 1789. Through the centuries the federal style building has morphed into many things before becoming the well-appointed and design-driven, comfortable hotel it is today.
