Thanksgiving Dinner

Thanksgiving Dinner
We'll serve our favorite dishes for Thanksgiving Dinner 2017.  We use a collection of recipes we've gathered over the years: turkey, wild mushroom ravioli, homemade lemon and fennel stuffing (using bread from the Berkshire Mountain Bakery), shredded sweet potatoes with browned butter, garlic, and fresh sage, a variety of vegetables, cranberry sauces, and chutneys.  (And undoubtedly some other sides, as well!)

Dessert includes three choices, all with our homemade pastry made with real butter.  Our family calls it "the best apple pie" and it's based on a recipe from a 150-year old cookbook.  It's a splendid, old-fashioned recipe using Northern Spy apples grown locally with just the right spices.  We'll also offer pumpkin pie and mincemeat hand pies.  At the end of the meal, coffee and tea will be served.   Our coffee is roasted locally by friends at No. Six Depot in West Stockbridge, and we always have at least eight varieties of Harney teas to top off the meal. We hope you'll Join us!

Things to Do Indoors

There are lovely things to see and do during the day.   The Norman Rockwell Museum will be open.  This visitor favorite is 6.2 miles from Brook Farm Inn and easy to find.  What better Thanksgiving tradition than to see famous works by Norman Rockwell.   https://www.nrm.org  You and yours can spend part of the day touring  Edith Wharton's home, The Mount https://www.edithwharton.org  a wonderful house museum and gift shop a short drive from the inn.

Things to Do Outdoors

You can also visit Kennedy Park in Lenox for walking ( a well-traveled park maintained by the Town of Lenox) or enjoy a stroll at the Pleasant Valley Nature Center, a Massachusetts Audubon  property https://www.massaudubon.org/get-outdoors/wildlife-sanctuaries/pleasant-valley  with various loops and trails, a chain of ponds,   and wildlife viewing areas.  There is even a labyrinth to walk at the Kripalu Yoga and Health Center within a mile of the inn.

Dinner at 4 pm

We'll have a fire burning in the library, Savory & James Fino for your enjoyment before dinner.  We'll open the dining room for a family buffet Thanksgiving Dinner at 4 pm on Thanksgiving Day.  The sun will be setting through our dining room windows, the tables will be set for twos and fours, and the gravy will be ready!
