Perched above the Atlantic Ocean, the Kennebunk River, and its own private beach, The Colony Hotel is a historic oceanfront resort that has welcomed guests since 1914. With 140 distinctive guestrooms spread across five charming buildings—each offering ocean, river, or garden views—the hotel blends timeless coastal character with modern comfort.

Guests can savor fresh New England cuisine in the oceanview dining room and enjoy the newly built, year-round Coveside rooms. Family-owned since 1947, The Colony is proud to be Maine’s first green hotel, recognized as an eco-resort, and warmly welcomes pets.

Coveside Market at The Colony

The Coveside Market bringing fresh, local offerings and convenient bites right to the heart of The Colony Hotel. Located alongside our newest rooms, the market features a specialty coffee bar, curated local goods, and kitchen-made grab-and-go meals—perfect for a beach picnic or a laid-back lunch on our scenic riverside patio. As a new addition to our property Coveside Market has quickly become a social hub of activity and one of the best places to kick back and grab a cup of your favorite coffee!

Marine Room & Ocean Terrace

Marine Room & Ocean Terrace offer the best views of the pool and the New England Coast. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or sitting down to a full dinner, this more casual dining space offers front-row seats to it all the action. The Marine Room features wide range of menu items daily from salads, house made chips and salsa, fish tacos, burgers off the grill or even steamed lobster.

140 guestrooms located in five separate buildings. The main historic building has classic New England charm, Coveside building has contemporary styling and conveniences, and two private houses are ideal for families or small groups.  Please note that the main historic building closes from late October through mid May.  Coveside rooms will remain open year round.
