Vermont Route 100
In search of fall foliage in Vermont? We’ve got you covered. Venture down VT 100, a popular route during the fall as it’s lined with an array of colorful trees during the autumn season. Despite the fact that it can get a bit crowded because of this, the road retains a rural feel through most of the towns it traverses, providing a local feel and a picturesque trip. You’ll drive through some of Vermont's most well-known resort towns, including Wilmington, Ludlow, Killington, Warren, and Stowe.
Cold Hollow Cider Mill
No trip to Vermont is complete without a cup of cider. Stop by Cold Hollow Cider Mill in Waterbury, a family-run establishment that began as a historic dairy barn. Their original 1900s press still operates today, and they take great pride in the fact that every product they create carries forward a legacy of excellence and quality. Wander through their café, shop the retail store, and sample a few pastries from their bakery, before watching fresh cider get pressed the old-fashioned way and tasting the deliciousness for yourself.
Sugarbush Farm
Located on a scenic road right outside Woodstock, Sugarbush Farm is famous for its excellent waxed cheeses and pure Vermont maple syrup made right on the 500 acre farm. This farm’s store has all the makings for an ideal fall picnic with their full selection of jams, mustards, spreads, and meats made locally. Take a tour of where the maple syrup is made on a walk in the woods to tap their trees.
Gondola SkyRide
The best way to see the fall foliage in Vermont is from the sky. Venture up in the Gondola SkyRide in Stowe to get a taste of Vermont’s greatest views the easy way (no hiking needed!). Located at the top of Mt. Mansfield, which is Vermont’s highest mountain, you can grab a bite to eat at the Cliff House restaurant, shop for souvenirs at the Summit Retail Gift Shop, or bite into a sweet treat at The Waffle while enjoying the colorful views.
